Above The City
Can't decide what season is your favourite? Welcome to Auckland, where we experience all four on a daily basis!
I am sitting writing this blog post after a walk along the bays on a perfectly summery mid-spring evening. However, when we set out for a sky tower brunch this morning, it was a completely different story.
The Sky Tower is the icon that most people associate with Auckland. As you look at the skyline you definitely can't miss it. The 328 meter structure is situated right in the heart of Auckland with the most incredible 360 degree view of the city.
Yesterday, singled the end of uni classes for the year. I still have an exam before I am completely free, but what better way to celebrate the end of assignments and 8am lectures than brunch with loved ones over the city that I have called home for the past eight months.
The rotating restaurant, Orbit 360 Dining, took us on a journey around the city from the comfort of our table. We enjoyed great chatter and beautiful food whilst making sense of the streets below us and pointing out familiar landmarks.
Even if the sky wasn't as flawless and blue as it was this evening, the view from the SkyDeck certainly wasn't gloomy. It was tranquil and beautiful. They don't call New Zealand 'land of the long white cloud' for nothing!
