L.A to the Central Coast
The plan was a sunset trip on the AMTRAK from Los Angeles to Grover Beach.
Taking the Pacific Surfliner route, the train would have winded around the cliffs and past the stunning beaches of the California coast. I would have sat with my eyes fixed on the view outside the window as the sky turned the colour of Fanta and the sun sank into the depths of the ocean.
Like I said.... that was the plan.
The reality was Los Angeles traffic, missing the train by three minutes and a four-hour wait until the next one.
I filled in time by hanging out in Hollywood. It was not on my list of places I desperately wanted to go in L.A, but hey, I can now say I have been to Hollywood.
I arrived back at Union Station in time for my 7.05 train and caught the last glimpses of the sun over the beautiful..... Burbank Airport.
Oh well, I guess sunset train ride can go back on my bucket list.
At 11.55pm, my bus finally arrived at Grover Beach.
I was greeted by a familiar face and the next day and a bit was spent with good friends - making the trip up the coast so very worth it.
